Today is the last day of February, and what a busy February it's been!

Subbing, working, Stake Women's conference, rain, snow!, Car returned, car again messed up, Trek prep, and so much more!!! It's been a heck of a month, and it's only going to get more interesting as the year goes on, I think.

Here's the Superstitions with snow on them from Sunday! (Just a taste until I can put better pictures up. I need to get some of Jason's, because his phone has better quality than my actual camera.

Coming soon:

Girl Day

I fail at getting pictures for these types of things! It's alright, though. You just get stories instead. :P

So, Friday was girl day, with my homey Kara Morris! It was really awesome! We got to go to lunch and hang out.

I picked her up and we headed over to Logan's Roadhouse at Mesa Riverview. WAY awesome place to eat! LOVE their rolls and grilled steak salad! Seriously, what's better than steak and salad? Best of both worlds! :D hehe Anyways, so we ate there until we were stuffed, which was way sooner than either of us would have liked, then we stopped to take the leftovers to their respective fridges. And of course, on our way, we totally feel like napping because we're stuffed! Post-Cramial-Somulance (??????)....... aka "That tired feeling you get after you eat".

Our last stop was my house. We chilled for a little bit and then decided to get out. I had to drop something off at 4 and we had about an hour or so to fill, so we headed over to Michael's. (AMAZING store!! :D ) While there, I got a book on crocheting, so I can figure out how to make more than just scarves, and I also got some yarn, so that I can make Kara a wonderful scarf for her mission! (It's turning out awesome so far! ;D ) We looked at all different types of books, and then it was time to take the stuff over.

We dropped off the picture and then headed down to look for mission stuff for Kara at Burlington. :D We had fun trying things on. lol Always do. I don't like any of the clothes there, though. :S They don't fit me well.

The rest of our evening was spent watching/listening to Cosby youtube videos. haha All in all, it was a great evening! :D I had a blast, and I can't wait for more girl times before she leaves!

Story Update

So, as you know, I've been working on my Confessions.

NO, NOT with a priest. We don't even have those.

My story is what I've been talking about. :P I'm still about the same from last time, but I'm definitely getting closer to finishing all of the character synopses! It's so much fun to think about the story from a certain character's point of view. Don't know why I never did it before. It's really helpful for deciding what you want to happen. :)

Hope you've had a wonderful President's day!

Happy 3 years of blogging!!

So, this is in celebration of my 3 years of blogging, and my 3 years of knowing Kara Morris, who is honestly one of my best friends in the whole world! (And who is soon to be leaving to go on a mission to Canada! - Kara, you and I have several girl days to plan/attend, since I won't see your lovely face for 18 months when June rolls around!!!)

Can I believe where my life has taken me in these 3 years? Definitely not! I was not expecting what happened, but I am definitely glad it did.

Peace out, friends, may there be many more posts to come!

Saturday

Dear Saturday,

You have been amazing. For Real.

It seemed like forever and yet like no time at all when I was at our Stake's Relief Society Women's Conference. The topic was "Rejoicing in Hope" and it was amazing!! But more on that in a later post!

Besides being spiritually uplifted early in the day, it was raining pretty much all day! AMAZING!!!

And besides the awesome rain, I got to spend the afternoon watching Psych with my husband. Yes, we have finished season 2, and now I need to find some way to watch the others!!! It's a great show!

So, all in all, it's been a great day! Can't wait for tomorrow so I can wear my new skirt I got! :D

Sincerely,
A very happy Me

P.S. I need to also blog about my Friday girl day with Kara Morris! So I'll try to get that in ASAP!

KitchenAid

Dear Kitchen Aid,

Can we be friends? I mean, seriously? I don't think you can take the place of CrockPot, but you're up there! I think we could be good friends. I'm willing to learn to make bread, and you can help me!

Please let's be friends! You're so cool!

Sincerely,

A wanna be cook

Happy Valentine's Day

We need to show love all the time, but here's a list of things I love about Jason that I'm sharing on this day of celebrating love! (Note: There is no rhyme or reason to the order of the list - so just enjoy the five hundred things I right. ;D ...... Okay, I know there's not five hundred. lol)

I love that:

-He loves my cooking (and says so, even if I don't think it turned out right/good)
-He always asks what he can do for me
-He doesn't care that I'm crazy
-He worries about me (pretty much all the time)
-He wants me to be better and helps me the best he knows how
-He encourages me to improve my talents
-He laughs with me about silly things
-He doesn't care that I can't dance (and that I laugh like a fool when I try to) ((In other words, he likes my dancing. lol))
-He brings me roses (multi-colored ones, too! Not just red or pink) because he can
-He comes to rescue me when I'm freaking out about car stuff (Darn cars that hate me!)
-He's been so good to me throughout the whole car ordeal
-He encourages me to go outside my comfort zone (even though I don't want to) and sometimes makes me
-He respects me
-He loves listening to me talk, even when I sound like a fool
-He will let me read stories to him (and actually enjoys it! hehe I enjoy the reading, because I use different voices. It makes it fun!)
-He works to support us so I can work for "fun" (actually, right now I'm working to accumulate money to publish Garnet.)
-He snuggles with me
-He kisses me when either of us come home from work/school
-He kisses me when he leaves for work at early 0'clock in the morning
-He's always planning and coming up with ideas when I get mentally stuck
-He watches movies/tv shows with me (Hurray Psych!!!! - our current tv marathon)
-He shows me he's proud of me when I do something that improves myself
-He will cook when I ask him to, and he does a dang fine job at it!
-He reads scriptures with me (even though he's a turkey for most of it. lol Can't read without him being funny)
-He's always trying to improve himself
-He's always learning
-He cares about what I think, even if I really don't have an opinion or anything to say
-He lets me (and sometimes MAKES me) make decisions
-He likes smelly things (candles, lotion, perfume, etc.)
-He smells good
-He celebrates little things with me
-He married me in the temple
-He is faithful in his callings and assignments
-He can memorize movies in one sitting and quote them
-He likes Disney movies
-He participates in church and institute (sometimes it's forced lol, but aren't we all forced sometimes? like me and giving prayers lol)
-He plays piano well
-He tells me what happened during his day
-He grows things, or attempts to grow them (We're cheering on our little potato plants!)
-He knows lots of interesting facts
-He doesn't care that I have a blog (might care that I post about him, but that's okay. ;D )
-He holds me when I really need a hug
-He tells me I'm beautiful
-He encourages me to look my best
-He's patient with me, when I would have smacked myself upside the head for being the way I am
-He laughs with me when I pretend to be sassy and end up looking stupid (happens ALL the time! LOL)
-He controls his anger and frustration better than me (it helps with his being patient with me)
-He is always there for me (and for his friends)
-He cares about others and wants to help
-He faithfully pays tithing, and I know we're blessed because of it
-He likes being around me family (E-money and K-Dawg or whatever Kristen is lol)
-He laughs at poor helpless squirrels that get drowned in the horses' water bucket (it's okay... I laughed, too. Stupid squirrels!)
-He calls me a squirrel (You may think it's offensive, but it's one of his terms of endearment. lol He's hoping I will one day be a rabbit.... Or something. And it's because of how I am - Yay Hammy! :D)
-He calls me a turkey (And I call him one right back. ;D Another term of "endearment" hahaha We're just both silly, that's why!)
-He wants me to be successful in all of my endeavors
-He's organized, where I am ....... not (that's the best way to put it. lol)
-He would kick peoples' trash if anything ever happened to me
-He aspires to great things (like taking over the world..... but you didn't hear it from me. ;D)
-He takes care of things (me, objects, doling out punishments that are needed.... lol)

Alright, I could go on and on, but I've got things to do and places to see and a husband to spend time with. Needless to say, I have the best husband! And while others may argue..... I got the best one!!! (Alright, at least the best one for me.) I'm so grateful for all he does for me and for how he treats me. He treats me like the queen of the world! (Which I will one day be.... so be prepared everyone! ;D JK)

May your Valentine's Day be as wonderful as I know mine will be!

Confessions: Story update

So, since one of my goals is to publish Garnet this year, it's requisite that I earn the money to pay for it. (Hooray working?!?!?!) So, that's on hold for a couple of months until I can get the money to do my joint venture.

In the meantime, I am working on my next story. I'm really excited about this one, because I know it will be so much better than Garnet! For those that are recent followers, here is the storyline:

- A Girl named Carrie gets in a car accident with her brother. She wakes to find herself in another time and place. She finds herself in Whitby, England, playing the part of a young woman in her early twenties named Rebecca Bennett. This Rebecca is in the time of the story of Dracula, and Carrie must learn her part. She meets and befriends the main characters of Dracula and helps them in their adventures.

That's all the info I'm going to give on it, because I think it'll be way cooler to read when it's ready! Hopefully in the next year or two, I'll have it ready! :D I love it!

First Job

I finally got my first job subbing! :D YAY!!!!!!!

So on Wednesday, after I borrowed the truck from my mom so that I could have transportation to various places, I stopped by.... Okay, technically I drove out of my way..... to drop box tops off at Franklin, and then to let them know I was able to sub.

One of the 4th grade teachers was waiting to talk to the receptionist after me, so I hurried and left.

Surprise of that night, I got a call. It was the teacher I had seen in the office and she needed a sub! (YAY!!!)

There were some minor problems with adding me to the system, so she called the principal, who said for me to just show up and the receptionist would take care of it. I was fine with that.

And then my adventure continued.

I woke up and got ready and made my way over to the school. I got there and said the teacher asked me to sub, and I heard the dreaded information: "There's already a person in the system for that job."

(Pause for jaw dropping moment.)

"The teacher asked me to and said to just come in. She talked to the principal who said it was alright."

"But there's already someone in the system."

At this point, I want to A) crawl into a hole and B) Die. My first job and nothing is going right so far.

"Normally we go with the teacher in the system, but let me call the sub office."

*Sigh of relief/hope things will go well*

At this point, one of my students from my student teaching class came into the office and saw me, and I really hoped I would get it at that point, because to have one student see me and tell the others I was there and then I wouldn't be was just a cruel thought.

So the receptionist finished up her conversation and told me that they would go with me and not the one in the system. After she said that, I filled in the information, and then the OTHER sub walked in and asked about it. Can you say AWKWARD???? I finished filling it in, got the key and went to familiarize myself with the classroom and the instructions for the day.

I got set up, took my lunch to the fridge and prepared to pick the kids up in the FREEZING WEATHER!!!! Thankfully I had a really big jacket. hehe

I picked up the kids. I was nervous when we got to the classroom, because it's a whole new group of students I didn't know, but once I got in my teacher groove, everything went fine. I had a lot of fun, and I'm hoping the kids learned at least one thing.

Subbing for that class was especially nice, because they had two specials yesterday, which meant that I had about an hour to myself in the classroom. And the best part, was that they had music at the end of the day, which means they're dismissed from there.

Overall, after the little adventures, it was a good experience. I had one teacher tell me she wished she knew I could sub so she could have had me that day. I had another say that if her cold gets worse, she might ask me to come in. So, now that the teachers know I can sub, we'll see what happens.

(Sorry for the novel, but you get the whole story or nothing. ;D )

Bored

So, after yesterday's events, I'm kind of stuck at home. I could take Jason's car and go to the store, or go anywhere really. There's one thing keeping me from doing that.

His car is leaking coolant.

No, it's not gushing out. It's a slightly steady very small trickle. At least, that's what it looks like from the puddle under the car.

His is the second (used) car I've driven that's tried or successfully overheated on me. I don't understand it.

Rather than have it try to overheat on me again, I'm taking a pause from driving it and borrowing my parent's truck (again). Only thing is, I won't be able to get it until early afternoon. So, I'm stuck at home.

I do have a positive to say about that, though. It's warmer than outside! I could have driven the car and been stuck out in the middle of somewhere waiting for the engine to cool enough to pour some water in. Instead, I'm staying home trying to get things done.

Let's see.... It's 9am and so far I've gotten ready, brushed my teeth, cleaned a little bit of my room, and blogged.

I guess that's another thing about me not having a car to get places. I blog like crazy! I feel like I've posted more in the past 2 months than in the 6 months prior!!! Which, I don't know if it's a good thing or not, but it is what it is. lol

Anyways, I better be productive. I've got some laundry to take care of, some dishes to take care of, and a room to clean. Plus whatever else I want to do.

What a Day

So, I'm usually OCD about posting more than once in a day. (I don't know why, but I'm weird like that. lol Just go with it.)

Anyways, today has been quite interesting. I got up like any other day and got ready for the day. I was going to drop some box tops by the elementary school and tell them I'm ready to sub when they need me. I get there, and they're doing bus evac drills, so if I go in, I wouldn't be able to leave for who knows how long. So I kept going to get to work.

The 60 was WAY backed up. An accident at Alma School Rd, so it was way backed up. Stop and go for 30 minutes at least. I finally got on and was going to get off the next exit (Mesa Dr) and noticed my husband's car was almost in the red for the temp. gauge. First thing I thought was get over and turn the car off. Second thing was "WHY ME?" I was driving my car when it overheated. Thankfully this time wasn't as bad as last time, but it was still upsetting.

I called my husband, who thankfully came and save me. He put water in the coolant place and then followed me home. We made it back, but there's still a leak somewhere that's letting coolant escape, and so for now, I don't have a car. Yippee?

Hurray for adventures? Why do I have to have this kind of adventure? Why do cars hate me? SERIOUSLY.

Hope you've had a better day than I've had.

House sitting

So, my parents went on a vacation for their 25th anniversary this year. They went someplace really cool! :D

Anyways, while they were gone, Jason and I were the watchers of the house. It was great. We watched tons of psych, had pizza on that Friday and played mario wii a lot! It was a blast.

I did learn that I am apparently more strict than my parents. (I just want everyone to follow the rules.) So, I let Jason be in more control. No one wants me in charge? Then I won't be. Less stress for me!

I did work that week, and that was the weekend that I got sick with the flu. NO FUN! I still have the sniffles and slight cough from it, and it was like 2 weeks ago! The fever lasted about 4 days, I think. But for now, I am much better. (YAY!!!)

So it was an adventure to be sure. It's all good, though. Adventures can be fun. :)
