Resolutions

So, here's my post about resolutions...... finally. lol

I have three main ones, and a lot of littler ones. My main three are the ones I'm definitely going to work on to make happen!

In no particular order, here they are:

* Clean my room - I know that sounds very "childish" or like a teenager's goal, but there's so much behind it. I have my own room in the house. My "Courtney cave" or art cave or whatever I want to call it. As soon as it's clean, I'll be able to work on art, practice my violin (when I get it back from my sister who's borrowing it), sing, etc. It's my room, and I can do what I want in it! I just need to clean it first. lol I'm very glad I've been getting the boxes out of there. Started with probably 20 boxes stacked, down to 4 all sitting on the floor. :D

* Publish Garnet - I've been in contact with the company. It's a joint venture, I will be supplying the money from what I make (working to pay it off). I am currently deciding what I want to do before I send it all in. Do I want to take one more run through and print it all out and edit it, or just send it in as it is? I really have no clue yet. But I need to decide soon so I can fulfill this goal.

* Read scriptures daily (and discuss) - I lack communication skills, so that's to help me communicate, but it's also to get me back into the scriptures. I have slacked off in reading them. I used to be good at every day reading, but something happened and I've backed off a lot.

So those are my three main goals. Some of my other goals include:
-getting in shape (round doesn't count for this) especially since we're doing a trek in June. Definitely want toned legs.
-Better about planning meals in advance.
-Practice my art skills (dependent on the clean room)

Hope everyone else has goals they're working towards!

Hiking

Dear Mountains,

I have long feared you, as I am completely out of shape.

I still hurt from my last hike (Saturday, Jan. 29th), but I will not let it defeat me.

Mountains, I am planning on conquering you. Especially because I've got the trek in June where I will die if I don't prepare. So, even though I haven't liked you, I'm getting over it. You and I will soon be pals, and sore legs will be a thing of the past. That I promise you.

Sincerely,

A sore hiker

Fridays

Dear Fridays,

I really do not like you. I used to love Fridays. It meant "The weekend is here! Party and have fun!".......

No longer. :( It means come up with something to do while my husband is at work from early in the morning to early ish afternoon, and then come up with something else to do while he's at school from 4 to 8:30 PM. I don't like it. :(

When you give me my husband back, Friday, I may like you again. Until then, you have become a meany!

>:-(

Sincerely,
Courtney

Cooking

Dear Crock Pot,

Since you have come into my life, and have had good recipes given to me, I am more excited to use you! Yes, the recipes are for larger families, but leftovers = yummy!

You have made my life easier (along with coming up with meals before it's actually time to eat) by letting me put ingredients in you and let them cook. It makes yummy food! And my husband likes you, too, because I do have dinner ready and I don't stress about what to make.

So, I just want to thank you, and let you know that I hope to use you much more often now! (I just hope I can keep up with planning meals the week before.)

Sincerely your cooking friend,

Courtney

Subbing

So, in lieu of my trying to get a job teaching, I'm instead going to sub for now. I want as much experience elsewhere as possible! (And I want time to try to decide what I want my classroom to be like, and how I want things to work.

I am nervous about subbing, because I can't really connect with the students as I would be able to in my own classroom. But I'm hoping it will be good for me, because it involves the phone. (I might find most of my jobs online, though.)

Anyways, the application was easy. FIll it out then turn it in. Not that difficult. I did have orientation on Wednesday which was boring. This coming Friday, I'll be able to register with the program, and then I'll begin subbing! At least I know what schools I'll be at. I put that I'd work only at Franklin Elementary schools. ;) Now hopefully I'll get some jobs!

Sickie

That's what I've been for what feels like forever!!

I got a flu on Saturday, really felt it on Sunday, and have been trying to recoup from it ever since. It's not very fun. :( At least I'm not down with a fever anymore, though. That was the worst part. Hopefully I'm better soon! (And hopefully my stomach wants food again soon, too. The starving but not wanted anything is getting kind of annoying.)

Catch-up

So, I'm going to try to do better at posting. It's just been a crazy past little while!

I'm going to cover a couple of things on this post from my list.

January is a busy time for mi familia. My dad's birthday is the 3rd and mine is the 7th.

We spend my dad's birthday with the family. Jason and I had dinner with my family, and then we had a quick family home evening. After we finished FHE, my dad opened a few presents and we moved on. We also got to burn the family's Christmas trees from last year and the year before. I'll post pics later. Let's just say.... 20 ft flames. lol

My birthday on the 7th was great! Jason took off work to spend the day with me. We slept in, got up and relaxed for the rest of the morning. We went and stopped at the institute building for parking stuff. (Graduates no longer get free weeklong parking there because too many rule breakers. :( *tear*) Then we grabbed lunch from In-N-Out and headed off to the movies! We saw Chronicles of Narnia, and it was AWESOME!!!! I can't wait for the rest to come out! We finished the movie and Jason left me at home to go pick up some things. I worked on a picture for a while. He came home and wrapped the presents and then we went to go to dinner before my family came over. We attempted to go to Vito's, but there were extraneous factors that kept us from attending. (A fire ambulance and a full parking lot.) So we got Jamba Juice and ate Ramen at the house. My family came over and I unwrapped presents, which included: a frame for my diploma, an art easel, sewing measuring tape, hot guns, and some other items. We ended the party with Pizzookies (amazing, thanks to my mom!) and youtube videos.

All in all, the birthdays were awesome! I had a blast! :D

New Year's Day

And the trend ends.... 3 days of posting daily, and then I break. lol Alright, it wasn't a goal or anything, but it was fun to try. I am now at 4 out of 5 days of blogging. ;) Pretty impressive, huh?

Alright, not really. lol

So, New Year's Day was pretty quiet. Jason and I stayed home and did stuff. I think we mostly just played on our computers. lol Like I said, it was quiet. And that was pretty much it.

Short post, but I still posted. :p Hope everyone is doing well, even though no one reads this. XD

Happy 2011!!!

Zoo!

So, the Monday after Christmas, Jason and I went to the zoo with his sisters Becky and Neva and Neva's kids. Last time I went to the zoo was for a school thing.... it's more fun to go for the purpose of walking around and looking at the animals. And we did lots of walking!

We saw all the animals, and it was all in all a good time. Now, for some pictures! :D
